Press release - sept. 10, 2023

Common Man for Ukraine announces Toni Sergott Chellis $100K Memorial Matching Campaign

For Immediate Release

BOSTON, MA – Sept. 10, 2023 – Common Man for Ukraine announced Sunday the launch of the Toni Sergott Chellis $100K Memorial Matching Campaign, remembering the life and legacy of Toni Sergott Chellis by doubling supporters’ impact on the lives of vulnerable Ukrainian orphans and displaced children.

A beloved wife, mother and grandmother, Toni’s family has pledged to generously match every dollar donated up to $100,000 to Common Man for Ukraine in the month of September.

A pet lover, lifelong jazzercise enthusiast, and passionate world traveler, Toni’s family wishes to honor her bright light by inspiring us all to do good in this way: by helping vulnerable Ukrainian orphans and displaced children struggling to survive the consequences of this war.

Anyone wishing to support these children is encouraged to donate today at commonmanforukraine.organd double your impact as part of the Toni Sergott Chellis $100K Memorial Matching Campaign.

The New England-based grassroots nonprofit has raised and delivered nearly $3 million in humanitarian aid to Ukrainian orphans and displaced children, resulting in the delivery of more than 800 tons of food, 10,000 sleeping bags, and hundreds of generators, as well as the development of day-treatment and residential child trauma counseling programs.

Common Man for Ukraine’s co-founders recently concluded their sixth relief trip to the region, visiting in August their Children of Ukraine Health Retreat that serves as a trauma counseling program for Ukrainian children aged 8-17 who have lost their fathers fighting in the war. The group’s next relief trip will take the form of a food delivery convoy to Ukrainian orphanages and safe houses in October.

The volunteer-run Common Man for Ukraine offers a most heartfelt thank you to Dale Chellis, Toni’s husband, for this deeply kind matching donation opportunity. Together, in Toni’s memory, we’ll do good.
